The Department of Physics is one of the oldest Departments of Govt. College Jind. It has made significant contribution to the growth and the development of the College as an Institution. The principal aim of an educational institution is to transform the young minds into enlightened individuals. The Physics Department has always emphasized adherence to high ethical values within the academic community of students and teachers. The Teacher-Student relationship has seen a paradigm shift over the years. The Teachers are not only the 'Mentors', but also the 'Friends', on whom students can depend in hour of need. With a committed and a highly accomplished faculty and excellent performance record of the students, the department attracts the brightest of students from 10+2 stream to pursue their B.Sc. Non-Medical and B.Sc. Computer Science. 

The Department faculty members, with specializations in different areas of Physics, place great emphasis on teaching. The Department has well-maintained laboratories which are being upgraded every year with latest equipment. It has a computer laboratory equipped with latest facilities. In addition, the students can carry out their project work, play around with the concepts of Physics, give shape to their innovative ideas and exhibit their creative skills. Classrooms and Labs of the Department are equipped with projectors for efficient and hi-tech teaching. Teachers of the department have been contributing immensely to the corporate life of the College. Many of them are actively involved in the Administrative work of the Institution. 

Our students have consistently performed well in the University examinations and securing top positions in science exhibitions.
